If you think you’re the only one who stresses to find the perfect camel coat each Autumn/Winter, fear not; you are not alone! My piece on Men’s October Must-Haves reminded me just how great a camel coat can be.
I have a pretty solid camel coat and yet, I find myself lusting over this beautiful MaxMara version:
MaxMara Megaton Camel Hair Coat, $3061.98 CAD
And really, do you blame me? It’s so luxe and, as if I need more reasons to love a MaxMara coat, I present you with two words:
Gigi. Hadid. (In MaxMara)
Paired with a blanket scarf or a stole, layered over chunky knits and turtlenecks – Yes, the camel coat is an absolute must for both men and women, but you definitely don’t need to spend a fortune to look all kinds of luxe. You know what it is:

Club Monaco Daylina Coat, $449 CAD
Leave it to Club Monaco to come up with everything I’ll ever want in a coat. Perfect length? Check. Exaggerated lapel? Check. Simple buttoning? Check. Check. Checkout now plz.
This coat offers a great silhouette and is great for office wear. Thinsulate + Canadian winter = good decision, always.
A very similar alternative to the J.Crew option above sans Thinsulate, but avec double-breasted buttons. A great choice at a much more reasonable price point.
Wilfred Cocoon Wool Coat, $325 CAD
This coat is my personal favorite. Great price point, great quality and I do love the warmer tone. I had the opportunity to buy this coat in black and on sale for $120 last year, but I must have forgotten to take my sanity pills because I didn’t buy it. I shall regret that decision for as long as I live.
Massimo Dutti Camel-Tone Coat with Lapel, $295 CAD
Well hello there, beautiful stranger. Massimo Dutti is one of those shops that I always overlook/forget about. After seeing this coat, I’m confident MD will become one of my first stops. This coat is the perfect combination of all of the options listed above!
