OOTD 32: Return of the MAC

Poncho: H&M | Shirt: GAP | Jeans: Banana Republic | Booties: Dolce Vita

I definitely was not feeling like my best self today and I knew that yesterday’s preventative measures were all in vain. Yes, I am getting sick! Praying for divine intervention or that my sickness runs it’s course ASAP.

I left the house in the outfit above and, with hindsight, I realize that I looked like I was dressed out of that L.O.G.G. section at H&M that no one ever shops in. Wish I could complain more, but I was crazy comfy and therefore regret nothing!

Ok, that’s a tiny white lie; I regretted it when my calendar alerted me that I had an important meeting that I forgot about.

Why the regret, you ask?

Because Networking Tip 101: you always want to look and feel like your best self when making new connections. Drowning-in-Poncho Comfy Nat simply wouldn’t do!

A quick improvisation and a rummage through my purse found me my necklace stashed in a compartment, my NARS lipgloss and my cherished MAC lipstick: Velvet Teddy. Yes! Shook my hair out of its bun and ta da!

A slightly more presentable version than Drowning-in-Poncho Comfy Nat:

Necklace: J. Crew | Lipstick: MAC “Velvet Teddy” | Lip gloss: NARS “Striptease”

I normally wear my Velvet Teddy on its own. It’s probably the best everyday lipstick shade out there, but it is a matte finish and today, it made me look more sick than I felt. Thankful for the NARS gloss because it added much-needed shimmer to my face. Phew!

The moral of the story here, kids, is always be prepared and check your calendar always keep a tube of Velvet Teddy in your purse because you never know when it’ll need to make a triumphant return. Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! I plan to drown myself in alcohol….

…lot of orange juice, soup and tea. 🙂 ❤ xo
