No, seriously, is it February already?! Were we not just reminiscing about 2015 while sipping a little too much champagne on NYE?
After a pretty mellow January spent resetting after the holidays, there’s finally (finally) a lot to look forward to; with Super Bowl 50, Valentine’s Day, NBA All-Star Weekend (shout out to the 6ix!) and countless Edmonton festivals/activities, I know I won’t find myself twiddling my thumbs and bored at home.
If I DO find myself bored at home, you just know that I’ll be online shopping for these February Must-Haves (if I haven’t bought them on my lunch break at work already hehe).
Keep reading to learn why I have to have my February Must-Haves! ❤
Forever 21 Layered Asymmetrical Top, $26.90 CAD
The F21 Contemporary line is probably my fave go-to when I’m looking for a trial silhouette/trend or a one-time occasion. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’m looking forward to wearing this sweet, light pink (so not me!) blouse. The affordable price point is perfect because I know 1) I’m probably only going to wear it once and 2) I won’t be upset when I wreck it with spilled wine when I attend WineFest for V-Day. Because apparently adulting doesn’t cure clumsiness. 😦
Miu Miu Eau de Parfum 3.4 Oz, $135 CAD
I am beyond excited for the debut fragrance from Miu Miu. I tried it while wandering mindlessly through Sephora last week and was caught by surprise; it is light and fresh, but still rich and earthy. Does that sound confusing and contradictory? Yes, absolutely. Do I need this in my life right now? Yes, absolutely. In fact, I think it would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. (Am I subtle?)
Zara Ballerinas with Straps, $69.90 CAD
Another month, another piece from Zara. I can’t help that I love everything they put out. This month, I’m lusting after these lace-up ballerinas. Sure, we see those basic black lace-ups everywhere, but why not kick it up a notch with these babies? They are perfect for the (indoor) winter/spring transition with the silver and light pink elevating the Musée d’Orsay shape. Lurve! ❤
kate spade heart gramercy watch, $225 USD
Oh, Kate, how you know the way to my heart – through the cutest wristwear! Again, hearts are perfect for Valentine’s Day, but the watch face is not an in-your-face, scream-it-from-the-rooftops kind of statement, making it versatile enough for spring! I love the subtle, thin, delicate link strap.
Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat by Chrissy Teigen, $34.70 CAD
In my current adulting state, I find myself in the dangerous, dangerous process of learning how to cook. Yes, that means I’ve been living off of slow cookers, Tasty/BuzzFeed 30 second cooking vids on Facebook and frequent calls to mommy and daddy for cooking SOS’, but I am really looking to start a solid cookbook collection. I plan on starting with Chrissy Teigen’s debut cookbook, Cravings, out on February 23. I follow this supermodel/LSB host on IG and she is just so darling. And girl knows how to cook. #goals. Pre-order yours today!
LA MONTRÉALAISE ATELIER AFTER-SKI SWEATSHIRT, $80 CAD
Nike Classic Cortez, $95 CAD
I feel like I’m going to get a ton of shade for this one (namely from relatives and the sneakerhead community), but I am telling you – this shoe is the shoe. Yes, there are the Yeezys, which 90% of us may never be able to get our hands on, and, sure, Stan Smiths are popular AF, but if you’re looking to change it up, go with the Cortez. They are classics and the fashion world is slowly learning to appreciate them again. Trust me.
