April Must-Haves

The English Nerd in me rejoices every April because I can say: “April is the cruelest month”… And then I look around the room to see who actually understood that reference. (T.S. Elliot’s “The Waste Land” – one of my fave poems!)

April really is the cruelest month because 1) April Showers, 2) I never make it to Coachella and 3) I still ‘like’ ❤ all the Coachella IG pics on my feed like a sucker. Ladies, if you and I are on the same boat…

Cheer yourselves up with my monthly must-haves! 🙂

Kendall+Kylie Denim Skirt

KENDALL + KYLIE Denim Seamed Fringe Skirt, $134 CAD

I have a konfession to make: I’m a kloset Kardashian fan. Ok, not true. I’m a Kendall fan, but, more importanly, a fan of this skirt! The fringe lends an edgy appeal to the commonly preppy denim skirt, and I feel this piece will look great either with sneaks for that “Off Duty” bloggie vibe, OR with strappy heels for that “JK, I’m always ready for a Photo Op” vibe. Either way: winning.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette, $54 CAD
tarte Rainforest Of The Sea™ Color Correcting Brush, $29 CAD

Ok, one last konfession: I’ve always wanted to kontour like a Kardashian. Ok, I’ll kut it out. In all seriousness, I’ve been wanting to try this palette since it came out. Not for hardcore contouring purposes (applying makeup is not one of my skill sets), but for highlighting/brightening (aka looking alive). I am loving everything that tarte is putting out, and this one has been getting solid reviews!

East to West T

Sincerely Jules EAST TO WEST TEE, $49 USD

I don’t think this needs to be said, but I’ll say it: this shirt is perfect for me. It literally defines me (or at least my geographic location). I love a good graphic T; they can stand alone on warmer days with trusty denim and solid sneakers, or layered underneath jean/leather/bomber jackets etc. Trust me, when you find the one, follow the washing instructions carefully and cherish that T for as long as you can.

BR Necklace

Banana Republic Floral Bell Focal Necklace, $78 CAD

To mark a new season, I think it’s time to retire my beloved Zara necklace. As much as this pains me, knowing that I have options like this beaut from Banana Republic softens the blow. How sweet are those yellow bells/tassels? And the rose gold flower plating? Can I wear this every day, please? (Answer: Quite possibly!)

Pom Pom Clutch

Another month, another Zara piece to lust over. This month, I am going bat shi(p) cray for this fun pom pom bag! This is not your average pom pom and straw summer clutch; it comes with a gold chain strap which makes it even more lust-worthy. Distressed denim + pom pom bag. Shift dress + pom pom bag. A-line skirt + pom pom bag. Potato sack + pom pom bag. Ya catch my drift?

Fringe Scarf

H&M Fringed scarf, $29.99 CAD

+ pom pom bag. No, really, how fun would that be? I can see this scarf wrapped around a basic, slouchy T, which is masterfully tucked into a distressed denim skirt and paired with intentionally beat up sneakers. Or maybe that was a Sincerely Jules IG post. Hard to say, but easy to tell that this scarf will easily up the ante.

424 FIFTH Harriet Open Toe Sandals, $129 CAD

My feet are rejoicing because the block heel trend lives on! Everything – from the denim material to the straps and buckle detailing – is bang on perfect for spring and summer. Wear them on weekends with flowy dresses/rompers or on weekdays with structured skirts or ankle trousers. The main point is that you wear them. Because they are so darn comfy and so darn chic.

What pieces will you be shopping this month? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Thanks so much for reading! 🙂 ❤
