Major human confession: My relationship with fitness isn’t the best. Sure, I climbed a mountain to the summit (IG: @readyor.nat has pics to prove it), but if we’re talking consistency and stamina, well… probably count me out. I don’t play group sports. I look like a deer in the headlights at the gym. I can’t run long distances. I once did hot yoga and had severe heat rash on my face for over a week. My idea of fun is watching a Gilmore Girls marathon. Maybe while wearing lululemon so I feel better.
2 weeks into 2017 and I am determined to turn my fitness resolution into a lifestyle. I am holding my cousin/workout buddy accountable, but I’m also sharing the things I’ve been trying with you, blogosphere – because who better to hold me accountable than the World Wide Web? This is a safe, positive, non-judging space, right?
Yesterday, I tried Strong by Zumba – a music-led High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class. If you haven’t heard about it, fear not. I hadn’t either, until I signed up for a class. I saw the word ‘Zumba’ and thought: Woo! Dance party!
L o l. Not quite.
